Dear friends,

Next year it will be exactly 15 years of getting together during seminars, conferences or symposium of GIS Ostrava in the city Ostrava. It is our pleasure to have an opportunity to introduce a programme, which would allow us to document and discuss state-of-the-art and progress of geoinformatic technologies and their applications. We are preparing to have two parts of the upcoming symposium. The first session will survey the situation of selected application areas of the geoinformatic technologies. It will be concentrate on presentations of practical results in individual areas and it will be lectured in Czech and Slovak languages. The second session will be lectured in English and it will concentrate on research and progress in the area of geoinformatic technologies. We hope that symbiosis of this two sessions will benefit you, furthermore it will contribute to the convergence of science and practise. To reach the high goals of the symposium, The organizational assistance of TANGER, Ltd. is in charge of the organisational part of the symposium.
